All regular employees who work a minimum of 30 hours per week are eligible to participate in GumGum's benefit plans. Eligible employees and dependents will be able to participate on the first of the month following date of hire. You may enroll your eligible dependents in the benefit programs as well. Eligible dependents are defined as:

  • Spouse
  • California Registered Domestic Partner
  • Children to age 26, regardless of student or marital status. If your dependent child is over age 26 and mentally or physically disabled, coverage can be continued with proof of the ongoing disability.

When You Can Make Your Benefit Choices

New Employee

You have 30 days from the day you become eligible for the benefit plans to either elect or waive coverage. You will have an orientation meeting with People Operations to review all of your benefit options.

Annual Open Enrollment

Open Enrollment offers you the opportunity to make changes in your benefit elections. Open Enrollment typically occurs in November, and the benefits you choose will be in effect for the next plan year (January 1st—December 31st). Each year you will be notified of the Open Enrollment period and you will receive an overview of any significant changes that are being made to the benefit plans.

Family Status Change Event

Other than the above situations, you cannot make enrollment changes during the plan year (January 1st—December 31st) unless you have an IRS-approved “change of family status
